I very much enjoyed Malcolm's written piece but I wonder if he might be able to expand on the 'conventional missile gap' in a future post on the topic.
Modeling DOGE as straightforward oligarchical corruption also seems like a strong analytical lens.
Okay, this was awesome. That said, I’m not quite following the new direction of Mr. Kyeyune’s analysis.
After years of documenting the hollowness of the US empire and the absurdities of elite capture through woke HR mediation, he’s now concerned that DOGE is gutting the machinery of the same hollow, dysfunctional empire? All of a sudden, we’re supposed to bemoan the loss of competence in federal bureaucracies?
Maybe in the laptop class and around the DMV, this idea has legs. Out in the flyover, and in the new working class republican base, nobody cares what happens to the staff of the GSA or any other agency. The gutting of the agencies, and the firing of the experts, is really the whole point.
Great episode!
