I was thinking about this article driving home from nightshift and i remember matt christman (chapo podcast) saying that due to the inability of either party to address any real issues that there would eventually be a military coup in the USA. i really do think its a possibility.
Any military coup would favor the party that is currently in charge of the executive branch. All the more reason to pressure party representatives to start exercising their negotiation skills (over their power grab skills).
Oddly, I would not blame the military - I respect the seriousness that most military rank-and-file consider of the importance of the chain of command. The highest risk of abuse (of the military in domestic issues) comes from the non-military executive.
I still don’t understand why Hegseth would say this?? Surely saying anything publicly about COG planning is a huge no no to those in govt with knowledge of it. Was he just shitfaced?
